In the year 2021 governments of separate states together launched scheme for the betterment of workers of unorganized sector. The Ministry of Labor and Employment created e-shram portal for better future of workers of unorganized sector and their family. To avil the scheme one can register on the online portal and receive E shram card. E shram card have a 12 Digit uniq identification number (UAN).
UAN number is assigned uniquely to each applicant registering on the portal. This assigned UAN number will be permanent throughout lifetime. UAN number cannot be changed once it has been assigned to an individual.
People often have doubt regarding labour card and shramik card. Shramik and Labour card are two different schemes one offered by central government and another offerd by state government.
Shramik card can be applied by anyone who is india national whereas labour card can be applied at state level only. Both cards have its own both benefits and security and are launched by government of india for betterment of unorganized sector.

unorganized sector workers are workers who is home-based worker, daily wager , who runs their own buisinees ,workers who is not a member of ESIC or EPFO, are called an unorganized worker.
Eligibility Criteria for E Shram
Any Indian Citizen with age bar 18-60 can apply for E shram card and avail its benefits. We only need to be citizen of India and have a phone number linked to your Aadhar card. Any unorganized sector worker including construction workers, road sellers, agriculture workers, daily wagers can apply for this scheme and enjoy benefits offered by the scheme.
What is this scheme About?
The main purpose behind this scheme is to provide security and safety to people working in unorganized sector. It involves a pension scheme in which the beneficiary has to two to pay for the scheme till the age of sixty after which the beneficiary will receive sum of 3000 per month.
Subscriber of the scheme are also secured with the insurance scheme. The scheme provide accidental insurance upto 2 lakh in case of death or major disability. For minor disabilities person is aided with sum amount of one lakh. One can avail all major government schemes if one have e sharmik card also it helps people find job in a better way.
